Ecological Associates, Inc. (EAI) is a small environmental consulting firm located in Jensen Beach, Florida, specializing in coastal biological services. Clients include local and state government agencies, engineering and architectural firms, corporations, dredging and construction companies, homeowner associations, and developers.
EAI is seeking to fill several full-time (40 hours/week), temporary positions at its Jensen Beach, Florida office. EAI is seeking qualified manatee observers and water quality monitoring personnel in support of a local dredging project. Although this is a temporary hourly position, it could evolve into a permanent salaried position.
Job Requirements:
B.S. Degree in biology or environmental science is preferred. However, candidates who are working towards such a degree will be considered;
Ability to recognize manatees and general familiarity with manatee behavior;
Familiarity with field instrumentation preferred;
Ability and availability to work at night and in adverse weather conditions;
Experience in operating small outboard motor boats (up to 25 feet in length) preferred; and
Ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team setting.
Persons who do not have the requisite manatee observation skills listed above may be considered if they have practical natural resource experience working on or in the waters of Florida.
Starting Salaries and Benefits:
This is a temporary hourly position without benefits beginning at $16.00/hr. The selected applicant will be required to work approximately 40 hours per week.
Starting Date and Term of Employment:
Immediate opening. It is anticipated that these positions will remain in effect until about October 31, 2010.
